Best Basic Hummus

Add a couple of tablespoons of liquid from the chickpea can OR double olive oil for a smoother texture and consistency.


Using the Organic Road Unhulled Tahini will give a stronger flavour than hulled.

Variations to the basic recipe:


Add a half a raw beetroot


Add a small red chilli, and a few sprigs of coriander for a Thai flavour


Add some sun-dried tomatoes and red capsicum for a Mediterranean flavour

 

PREP TIME 10 mins SERVES X COOK TIME 5 mins DIFFICULTY Easy

 

INGREDIENTS

1 garlic clove, minced 400g can chickpeas, rinsed under cold water 2 tbsp chickpea water from the can (optional) 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tbsp Organic Road Hulled or Unhulled Tahini 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 tsp ground cumin Salt and pepper to taste Paprika to sprinkle


METHOD

Add all ingredients (except the paprika) to food processor and blend until desired consistency Place in serving bowl and sprinkle with paprika, drizzle with olive oil and serve with pita bread triangles or crudités.
